Partner With Us

We take seriously being an indigenous ministry, but it is never in God’s plan for His people to isolate themselves. For many years we have worked alongside ministry organizations and individuals, and we continue to invite the involvement of those who share our desire to reach First Nations for Christ.

Most importantly, we value the prayers of God’s people everywhere. There are unique challenges to church growth in our First Nations communities. We appreciate prayer for our pastors and ministry workers.

In smaller churches, some of our pastors may not have many fellow elders to share the load of ministry. These fellowships still need and welcome God’s people from other communities to come and help them – not so much as church planting workers, but those who will come alongside.

As Native people, we highly value relationships and don’t think of them as ending when a church worker moves on. Our pastors and members who live in more isolated locations especially appreciate visits.

Financial Partnerships

Even though NEFC is indigenous and organizationally independent, we are interconnected with Christians worldwide in various ways, including financial. Some of our Fellowship members have admittedly been slow in taking financial responsibility for supporting their own church and pastor. Some NEFC churches are small and located in communities with high unemployment, so most of our pastors currently have to supplement their incomes.

In whatever way God supplies for our pastors and workers, we want to be good stewards of resources entrusted to us. NEFC is an associate member of the Canadian Centre for Christian Charities (CCCC) and holds to their high standards.

Reaching any people with the Good News of Jesus Christ costs money. Like any ministry, we rely on Almighty God for His Spirit to direct His stewards in their giving to the Lord’s work. Church planting and outreach ministries in their beginning stages usually rely upon assistance from outside sources, and the NEFC is no different in this respect.

We see the future day when indigenous churches in Canada will more fully participate in the support of Christ’s worldwide mission endeavour. For now we invite others of like faith to ask God, “What would You have me to do in helping NEFC accomplish the tasks of evangelism, discipleship and leadership development among Native peoples across Canada and to the world?”

Should the Lord challenge you to share in the progressing work of NEFC, please designate your gift to one or more of the funds listed below:

General Fund

Our General Fund covers a variety of NEFC ministry expenses, especially administrative costs such as office and travel expenses for field trips and Executive/Board meetings. There are also phone, internet, and publication/postage expenses which are necessary for effective teamwork and communication.

Ministry Workers Fund

NEFC Ministry Workers (and Executive) are responsible for building their own team of prayer/financial supporters (i.e., the General Fund does not pay them a salary). One-time and regular monthly gifts designated to Ministry Workers are much appreciated and enable these servants of God to carry on.

CJTL Radio, Freedom River Counselling Group

Gifts can be designated to each of these two NEFC outreaches (see these pages on this website for more info).

Special Projects

From time to time NEFC will send out communication mentioning a Special Project in need of funding.
